On the day of the switch, we'll have active enlistments, where liaisons are still conversing with the applicant in a vanilla forum thread. Once we switch, new enlistments will create a discourse forum thread for the comments. But the existing enlistments will still use the existing vanilla threads. The enlistment page on personnel (e.g. https://personnel.29th.org/#enlistments/13350) will show the appropriate comments embedded (vanilla for existing ones, discourse for new ones).
Liaisons will continue conversing with applicants using the comments at the bottom of the enlistment page on personnel, whether the enlistment is in vanilla or discourse.
We'll need to ensure that people who are cadets in BCT at the time of the switch know to sign up on our discourse forums when they graduate. Perhaps we can work it into a BCT announcement that week? @conrad29th does that sound doable?
