I would like to see some documentation on how to manipulate the map data after the page has loaded, from javascript.

For example: After the page has loaded, click a button, and change the map's center location. Say it was centered in Miami Florida. When you click a button, change the map's center location to another location (Los Angeles California).

I am not sure how to bind my javascript, it keeps saying it can't find the map...
