Is there an example on how to implement the WhDateRangePicker (ie. controller, modal, view code)

Not yet, highly busy currently, working on a docs-site... nevertheless, this version is going to be tagged as beta and I am going to modify the whole folder structure and also, I could move onto declarative approach too.
