This is intended: test trails have never been included in the summary nor in the results csv. The assumption behind this is that the test link is usually used for trying out whether the questionnaire works (by the researcher or colleagues), not for collecting data that should enter the summary/analysis. If it could be useful to have the test trial results in csv form as well, we can consider to add this option in a future version.
It's a good point that there is currently no way to test what the final csv file will look like / whether saving the results to csv works before setting the study to "published" (I didn't rethink the testing link after introducing the split into draft / published / finished). I'll think about it - thank you for pointing it out. As a non-ideal ad-hoc solution for now, I would recommend testing it once more with the "participant" link after setting the study to "published" and deleting this one result before sending the link out.
Thank you for the reply. It makes sense to me that the testing link would not record results, so I do not think it needs to be changed. However, perhaps this can be indicated somewhere when using the testing link, e.g., "link for testing (responses not included in csv file)".
I think what was surprising, though, is that one can see the individual results in the web interface, whereas the results file is empty.
Yes, I agree - this should be indicated in a clearer way. Thanks again for reporting this!
Suggestion: include test trials in the results file (because it makes sense to test if the result file works via the test link), add column "test_trial" (yes/no).
Test trials are included in results with 964d081f6774afc5940d5d9cd80018905bfe3c52.
When I download the results file (using the testing link), the csv file only shows the header but is otherwise empty. Moreover, the "Summary" page shows no results.
However, when I click on individual participants (under Trials), I can see the responses.
