I was looking for these logs to help debug a kernel dying issue. Browsed around and thought this was an appropriate place for the info. This came from https://github.com/2i2c-org/infrastructure/issues/968 and https://github.com/2i2c-org/infrastructure/issues/1021

btw, I wasn't sure what the (user-server/stopping)= syntax was for, it didn't parse in the preview, I'm guessing it's sphinx related.

Agree we should definitely document this!

~However, I wasn't able to find this file. I did the following~:

EDIT: nevermind, I'm being silly, I forgot to leave off the s at the end of the filename :-P

Aside: yep @jameshowison the (user-server/stopping)= is MyST Markdown

Hmmm, I did find it, using a Terminal launched from the Launcher and the command, (notebook) jovyan@jupyter-jameshowison:~$ less ~/.jupyter-server-log.txt

Woops, missed EDIT :)

haha my bad :-)

I pushed a commit that fleshed out the content a bit more so that it described some more aspects of this. Does that look good to you?
