[Goal] Create content and localized workshop training material for cloud workflows in biomedicine

One of the major goals from our CZI grant is to create training documentation and content for workshops for cloud-native workflows in the biosciences. It will be used to leverage 2i2c's infrastructure in workshops that we run for communities in Latin America and Africa. We'll also need to localize this content for the specific communities in partnership with others on the grant. This is a tracking issue to describe the major things we need to accomplish in this goal and to discuss major strategy.

Overall goals

These are the major goals that we are responsible for leading on this project. Note that we will have collaborators and resources via the grant, but we will likely need to lead efforts of strategy and planning.

• Create training content for open science workflows in the cloud
• Create specialized content for cloud-native biomedical workflows
• Adapt content for workshop-style trainings
• Localize the content for communities in Latin America and Africa

Resources available to us

• Funds to cover one "applications specialist" over two years
• Support from The Carpentries and MetaDocencia for training and content creation (though likely without any expertise in cloud infrastructure or workflows)

FYI, I just had a quick "get to know you" meeting with Angelique Trusler, who is the African Capacity Development Manager for The Carpentries. She was very excited about this project, and was particularly interested in new ways that we could design pedagogical curriculum in the context of cloud infrastructure that was available for people to use!

I told her that @jmunroe is probably the best point of contact to start building relationships, since we'll be working with The Carpentries on the content creation side to follow their "train the trainers" model. She also seems like a very thoughtful person about building community-centric collaborations, and has good experience in working with communities in Africa. @jmunroe I'll send an intro e-mail!
