hi,

i test it and download all svn files again.

1. PHP Version 5.3.0 newest xampp version from apchefriends.org

2. after install, i see the root dir, i can create files in root

3. i try to create a folder, the popup doesn`t close after i click on "ok"
   - the dir is create on server but the file manager crashes (no dirs are shown)
   - i can reload the file manager when i close the browser, but nothing happens
the file is created on server, but no files and dirs are displayed in root

4. The problem is only with php 5.3 on my web server i have php 5.2.x and
cannot
reproduce the bug online, only local with xampp

does this happen only in Chrome, or does it happen with other browsers? any
JavaScript errors reported?

if it only happens locally, is there any error reported in the Apache logs?

if you can track the HTTP requests being sent and received by the browser, is
there
anything suspicious in them?

those Apache log entries are normal access logs, not errors.

the system error number is interesting as it gave me something to search for.

first result said something about character set. I checked, and my own server is
giving me this: "Content-Type text/html; Charset = utf-8; charset=UTF-8", which
is wrong.

after a bit of playing, I have it. Here's the fix (hit the '+' to see the
changed lines):

the error number is the same.

can you clear your cache and try again? I think that IE tends to cache
XMLHTTPRequest
queries if they return errors, so a refresh might fix this.

if that doesn't fix it, I'll have to fix it the week after next (I don't have
any
Windows machines here, so will have to do it when I go back to work)

the error is not a cache problem.
here is the log from firefox.

there is a php warning for wrong path.

ah - that '/' at the beginning of the directory name might be causing that.

not even sure how I'd test this - I've never had a Windows server, so I could
try to
fix it but would be guessing.

On a note - I see you're testing the nightly downloads - why are you not
testing SVN?
that way when I fix something, you could see the fixes immediately.

I'll have a look through the code to see if I can spot the problem anyway.

Do you have a Windows server that I could FTP into to try fix it?

I'm trying to build a VirtualBox virtual machine to test this in Windows. it'll
take
an hour or two. I'll install xampp so it's as close as I can get to your setup
(not
doing it in German, though - my German is rusty ;-) )
