[0.4.11] (request) Markdown Emojis #15

Please consider this as just a suggestion. You've already created a very useful tool as it is.

⚠️ Brainstorming…

I noticed in Markdown no [Reaction] emoji was being used for characters.

Might I suggest the text :reaction: which is often rendered by many Discord servers as the Paizo Reaction icon reaction

Even without being rendered, :reaction: is at least human-readable.

Or for more general use

## ⤵️ Typed as :arrow_heading_back: both here & on Discord.

↩️

:leftwards_arrow_with_hook: is closer

Better still, Markdown text/emoticon/emojis could be customised under Settings.

You could also include the :star: icon as the default turn indicator — :star:

Other defaults:

Hit Point Status 🩸 wounded 💔 seriously wounded ☠️ dying

Actions 0️⃣ Free-Action or :free-action: 1️⃣ One-Action or :1action: 2️⃣ Two-Actions or :2action: 3️⃣ Three-Actions or :3action:

Thank you for the suggestions. I think it's a good idea to add the emojis as an option when exporting to text.

However for the reaction, what would you suggest exactly ? Display the icon when the reaction is available for this character and no icon if the reaction have been used already ? Or a different icon ?

No icon is probably OK; it's only to remind them they still have a [Reaction] after all

But YOU could go crazy: if you really wanted to, it could mark them with any of these:

One more piece of feedback:

Wounded is actually a trait in 2e, so assigning wounded to ½ HP might cause confusion.

A lot of tables use bloodied or hurt.

Example:

Hit Point Status

🩸 ½ HP bloodied 💔 ¼ HP injured ☠️ 0 HP dying

That is a good point. I will change the text.

Thank you for all the feedbacks on this exporting feature. This is something that was requested on Reddit last year, but I am not using it personally and I never played this way before. So it's good to have feedbacks like yours.

Maybe "battered" would be better than "bloodied" in the sense not all creatures have blood?

But what emoji to use for that?

I think bloodied is a better "catch all" term. I heard several professional GMs use it in podcasts for describing exactly this. I think it's ok to use even on blood-less creatures, users will understand anyway.

I do not have Patreon and I don't plan to open one. I decided at the beginning to go for a one time paid app, and not use any ads, subscription or other similar things. If you want help, make advertisement in your players communities ;)

Thank you, indeed I noticed that today was way above average!

Unfortunately I will not be able to publish the latest update with the changes we discussed before Sunday evening. The code is ready but I do not have my signing key with me so I cannot certify the new version in order to publish it to the Playstore...
