The FPS unlocker is not opening for me at all. #315

Hey,

The FPS unlocker app is not opening for me at all!

I downloaded the latest update (which was 5 hours ago), installed the NET framework required to run but still, it doesn't open when I click on it.

1) I've enabled the app to run on Administrator. 2) Disabled UAC completely. 3) Unblocked the app via "Properties" since it was being blocked by Windows for some reason.

It is downloaded to my Downloads folder and when I click on it, the mouse cursor shows some "loading" and then nothing happens.

Already deleted and re-installed this unlocked 5 times till now. There seems to be no way to fix it. Can someone help please?

Try the new one, if this doesn’t work, use 2.2.0.

Tested on Archlinux. I'm using steam and proton to run "unlockfps_nc.exe" [v3.0.1]. I installed the "windowsdesktop-runtime-8.0.0-win-x64.exe" by using protontricks, but it won't run at all. So I'm now using "unlockfps_clr.exe" [v2.2.0], it works perfectly.

so it may be just the problem of linux compability.

Had the same problem, deleting the fpsunlock.json/ini fixed it for me

Deleting fps_config.json worked for me as well (or rather, renaming it to fps_config.json.old, so I still have it as a backup). For the linux part, as mentioned in #353, updating to Wine version 9 and above (currently those are GE-Proton9-1, Proton Experimental, Proton 9.0 (Beta) or just plain Wine 9.x) should fix the issue. If it still doesn't open, you should launch Steam through a terminal and see what the logs say when opening FPS unlocker.
