Moving this tentatively to February as this is open-ended and needs internal discovery
@rachelhbd was this covered in the thanks page redesign as part of April release or was this a separate issue?
Thanks for the nudge - this is a bigger project beyond donations! We can keep it in the icebox / backlog
It would be good to start discussing this in October to prep for design work in November. This is probably more of a conversation /call, so I'm assigning it to me for now to look at scheduling and framing this.
At the moment we have a pretty 90s looking thanks page eg. https://act.350.org/cms/thanks/stop-jackdaw-gas-field-uk_RH_test?action_id=26067456&akid=.2483206.ZpvPZ4&ar=1&rd=1&success=1
Some ideas for scoping:
A. Low-bar improvement idea: We might be able to make small improvements from subtracting elements and adding curved radius around some of the boxes eg. here's a version created by hiding/removing boxes and elements in "Inspect Elements in the browser" which should be low lift to implement and arguably looks a bit better?
B. Replace donate buttons with styling/code used for Sign > share > donate flow: Alternatively, to reduce maintenance it could make sense to replace the share buttons designs with the designs developed for the Sign > share > donate flow, eg. and add a link-share option here
If we did this, would it make sense to move the share buttons out to a separate after-action shares template file that is used by both page types? Would this likely reduce maintenance longer-term?
We'd also need to bear in mind though that share links and how action_ids is passed through may be treated differently across both options
C. Bigger rethink/redesign: We might want to take a step back and rebuild the standard thanks flow based on re-confirmed requirements, with a longer-term goal to be able to chain multiple actions together/give people a menu of actions after they've taken one action. This is probably where we want to go longer term. Question is whether it makes sense to do A or B whilst we figure this out.
