I get many duplicate or triplicate events on my phone. Some of them identical, others are slightly different (eg they may have different times because I updated them on Thunderbird and both old and new versions of the event are shown on the phone).
My setup involves 8 calendars and 4 devices synchronised with syncthing: a Windows 10 laptop with Thunderbird, a Debian 11 desktop with Thunderbird, a Raspberry Pi 4 with just syncthing (no calendar, Radicale/DecSync), a Android phone with Simple Calendar.
The Raspberry Pi is there always on just to make sure that even if only one of the other devices is on, the latest version of the calendars will be in circulation.
I can't see a pattern in which events or calendars get duplicated. I think recurring events are affected most.

EDIT: The duplicates are not synced back to any other device. They appear on the phone and stay there while the rest of the events sync in both directions.
