Hello

Thank you.

Can you add in mod also support for regular motors with reduction like voron 2.4?

Other mods like Orion (incompatible with 4040 and 2040 t-slot profile) or VT_Belted_Z are unfinished or have bad design solutions. Your work looks more professional and thoughtful.

If you add 1mm everywhere we could use 10 mm betls and get +11% belt stiffness. All components except carriages are compatible with 10 mm belts.

This is important for very big build plates or with glass surface. I have 450mm trident with 4040/2040 t-slot frame.

Hi Pavel,

Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm glad you appreciate our work on this mod. The primary goal of this mod was to minimize the disruption of the stock Trident skirts. The gearmotors allow the front skirts to remain completely unchanged and reduce complexity and BOM items compared to the belt and pulley reduction used on the V2 style assemblies.

This mod was heavily inspired by MathematicalPotato's VT_Belted_Z mod, and borrows a lot of elements from it.

My recommendation if larger build surfaces are needed would be to increase the gear reduction. OMC offers economy geared stepper motors with higher gear reduction.

I can investigate changes needed to accommodate 10mm belts and pulleys in the upcoming weeks. Can you provide links to the pulleys and idler hardware you wish to use?

Along similar line, suggestions on what build plate would hold up ok with the 5:1 motors listed in the BOM?

Thinking of using this on a 300x300 build, not sure how thick of a plate to go with (before upping the gear reduction)

Thanks.

@droidgee - Apologies for the delayed reply. Feedback and testing has only been provided for bed sizes 250mm and below. I can't say for sure that the 5.18:1 motors specified in the bom can support a 300mm bed without sag. Increasing the gear ratio would certainly help to avoid bed sag, but the motor skirts have limited clearance for motor length. Give me some time to investigate whether the 19:1 economy motors (OMC 17hs15-1684s-pg27) will fit. If that isn't feasible, I'll look into modifying the design to accommodate the 10:1 precision planetary motors from OMC. I've tested those motors with an 300x300 8mm build plate and they do not backdrive from the bed weight.

Heyy i found an Problem with the Precision Motors the Holes in the Stl Files are M3 Screws but in the Motors you linked to Stepper Online they have M4 maby you can change it thank you

Hi @FabianFloss I've corrected the motor skirts and uploaded new models. If you find another problem, please create a new issue, rather than commenting on this one. Thanks for letting me know!

@tdlane1 thank you for fast changing👍
