Optimizing 2D classification and selection in schemes #1051

Hi there.

This is not so much a problem than an idea/suggestion.

I am currently using relion_it.py to run schemes. I think it is a very nice feature and does a very good job. I was wondering about two questions.

1) For high quality dataset, automated 2D selection works great. For more heterogenous and small proteins, it picks a lot of noise. It would be cool if one could intervene in the selection process, select classes manually, and thus re-retrain the picking and/or selection algorithm (e.g. as for tranSPHIRE)

2) It would be cool if you could automatically set up multiple rounds of 2D classification and selection, to sort out more junk particles.

Not sure of any of these things can already be done with the current setup.

Best

Hi, I am trying to run 2D classification in Relion GUI using a file generated from Topaz auto pick, but after running 2D it started calculating and process die after a few minutes. Initially, I thought it was a memory issue, but even after increasing memory at the workstation, the 2D classification process still died after a few minutes. Please inform Thanks
