• I can decently turn interfaces into json schema
• the idea is :
  • I create a PestoContentType with a frontmatter: the curl sends a payload containing the text of the source code of the typescript interfaces representing the structure of the frontmatter. THe text of that source code can be called frontmatter_format or frontmatter_def
  • The REST API gets the interfaces source code, creates one local temporary typescript file, generates the JSON Schema file, and stores the JSON Schema and the bare typescript into 2 different fields in the mongo database
  • Using a secod curl, I create a PestoContent, with reference to a frontmatter (basically a string containing new line characters n spaces for indentation - base64 encoding for yaml files, to store them ?). and a payload made of the base64 encoded yaml or json frontmatter
  • the rest api then uses ajv to validate frontmatter against schema : const isIcecreamDataValid = ajv.validate(iceCreamSchema, iceCreamData);
  • if frontmatter is yaml, yaml is converted to json, and then we use ajv on it.

There at that point I have enough of rest api to implement the frontend:

• I have to git clone the project
• Then scan the .pesto.json configuration file:
• Then scan the folders/files tree, for content
• Then from the scan, display the list of pesto content entries, in a list component with delete/update button, and details page if you click on an item in the list

If I have that, then we can later:

• add the concept of user, owning his projects, etc...
• with keycloak OIDC authentication
• add an apigateway in front (gravitee)

The only question left is : ahow will the UI guide the user to specify a frontmatter schema ?

• basically th euse needs to construct a tree : for each node, the user has a dropdown to select either of:
  • string
  • boolean
  • number
  • etc...
• then i end up with a JSON that i need to spilt to turn it all into interfaces
• for that i will do one separate little poc, to implement one react component, with a form, and it sends the POST request to my REST API, to create a new PestoContentType, with its frontmatter. I will do the component poc into a separate repo : https://github.com/3forges/poc-react-pesto-form
