I use your plugin for a layer with multipart polygons. The plugin pans just to one part of the multipart polygon and not to the extent of the whole multipolygon. In this screenshot you can see a selected multipolygon. The plugin pans to the little polygon-part to the left so you don't see the rest of the multipolygon.
