Follow All Steps in ffmpeg Guide? #5

Does one need to follow all steps of the ffmpeg guide for Raspberry Pi you've linked to in the readme or just the first step which installs ffmpeg?

Only the first step is required. You have to download required deb file and install it. As I remember next steps are for motion detection. It makes no sense to install it.
