What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.install the extension
2.create a profile (HTTP Proxy: 172.16.1.254 and Port:8080)
3.create a profile (HTTP Proxy: 172.16.1.254 and Port:8888)
4.Switch between profiles and direct connection

What is the expected output?
Proxy not switched.

What do you see instead?
Using the direct connection or the profile makes no difference when viewing
filtered webpages. Switchy icon grayed.

Switchy version: 1.6.3

It may be useful to know that my Chrome was updated to the 64bit Version before 
this error started happening.

or is it the update to Chrome that disables some plugins ?

I had the same problem. But after enabling NPAPI back in 
chrome://flags/#enable-npapi (see instruction and Google plans to disable it 
completely https://www.chromium.org/developers/npapi-deprecation?pli=1) it 
seems that it works again. If it's indeed the reason, then extension will stop 
working in September :-(

Enabling NPAPI worked for me as well in Chrome ver 42.0.2311.90 m. Proxy 
Switchy now loads after enabling NPAPI and restarting the browser. I had the 
same problem a month or 2 ago when I was somehow moved to the beta channel 
without google asking me. Hope the permanent fix is released before we can no 
longer enable NPAPI.

It stopped working after the latest chrome update.
I have tried restarting Chrome but it always happens.

Guys, there're like 200 comments with dumps from Chrome. Author probably has 
noticed that his extension doesn't work.

Is it really necessary to post more of them? Every time I get email about this 
I hope for "Fixed. Author" and it's just another chrome's version and "not 
working" :\

1) Guys make a full backup (under IMPORT/EXPORT) of the settings.
2) Download Proxy SwitchySharp extension and click "restore from file" and 
select the backup file you just saved.

This is the best option so far i guess unless the developer fixes it.

Chrome disables by default NPAPI , so you need to manual enable it ... copy and 
paste the url on Chrome - chrome://flags/#enable-npapi ... enable it and 
restart Chrome ... thats it ...

Just manually enable NPAPI using the method posted in #188, and it's back on 
line now. Thanks to this guy and recommend to other people who has encountered 
this issue.
