It is estimated that ChatGPT has strengthened its moderation, and the plugin has not completely failed. General NSFW content can be displayed unless it involves minors or violent, bloody content (red warning). Previously, content could be displayed by refreshing, but now this is completely impossible. This phenomenon started yesterday.

I'm testing v4.7 on Firefox and Chrome and see no issues, at least on the free account. I'm going to need more information: What browser version? Mobile or desktop? Free or paid ChatGPT? Is DeMod's UI visible? What messages disappear: all, orange and red, or just red? Also full console log (F12) after the message is completed but not returned.

It is from Firefox in Czech (and from a very peppery action between mother and daughter).

Browser version: Chrome 129.0.6668.59 (Official Build) (64-bit). Desktop. Free ChatGPT (GPT4o) without the ChatGPT Plus sub. The orange messages remain and the orange warning is removed. The red messages are deleted entirely and completely blank. The DeMod UI at the top is visible to me but the DeMod reload page message that might normally be where a red message is deleted but doesn't load is blank.

I don't see anything noteworthy here. If it's only the blocked messages that cause problems then I'll have to ask if anyone has any quick way to trigger red warnings? I'm completely out of the loop jailbreaks and such, and I can't get it to trigger anything.

Triggering a red warning is easy; as long as the conversation involves sexual topics related to minors, a red warning is triggered immediately. The text above already triggered a red warning. ChatGPT refused to display the text, and after refreshing（Refresh the conversation, not the page）, the result was as follows: DeMod: Request completed, but DeMod failed to access the history. Try refreshing the conversation instead.

If you refresh the page, DeMod will temporarily be disabled. A red warning will appear on the page, and after about one minute, DeMod will recover, the red warning will disappear, but the conversation will be blank.

I'm triggering red warnings using suggestions people provided but DeMod loads the message back as expected without issues. Maybe it's difference of browsers. Or locations if they are doing some AB testing on ChatGPT. I'm going to be trying some more, but currently I don't know how to reproduce the issues you're having. If someone knows a sure way of having DeMod not load a red message and could provide a step-by-step description, starting from new chat, perhaps it could help me track down the issue.

Open Google chrome desktop, make sure Tampermonkey latest and demod are installed, and make sure demod's windows appear. Create a new account (log in via google), type in something that would cause a red warning to appear according to what was said above, and see what happens.

The current issue most are experiencing is the inability to read red warning text. And the red warning won't even load when using demod (empty, not even a red message even after refreshing) and your promt will also be blank.

@gmost It didn't work. Both standard ChatGPT 4o and Mini gave me a yellow warning for that prompt and then proceeded normally. Just in case I re-tried with clear memory and no custom settings but it didn't change anything.

But beside that the "17 year old" idea gave me red warning and DeMod restored the message for me, so I'm still unable to reproduce the problems described here.

So, If anyone else has other ideas how to trigger red warnings and have DeMod fail on clean chat, then I'm still interested. I won't be able to do anything until I can reproduce the issues.

I think it has something with the chatgpt itself, not demod. It fixed with a prompt for me. go to chat gpt jailbreak reddit in the top post there are 2 jaulbreak prompt. Do what @yell0wfever92 said.

Did you manage to reproduce this? It's still happening, yellow warnings work just fine. The red will simply either leave a blank result or it will force you out of the conversation.

I've noticed something odd with erotic content. If there's a red warning, it often gets removed when written from a male perspective, but it might be acceptable if it's from a female perspective.

I think it is how you frame your input. If your input is blunt and explicit it realizes the severity and doesn't render. But if you are more vague it will render the output but realize the severity afterwards and then delete the output.

I think it is how you frame your input. If your input is blunt and explicit it realizes the severity and doesn't render. But if you are more vague it will render the output but realize the severity afterwards and then delete the output.

It is getting deleted because of the back to back explicit nature in the Input, if you put some flowery sentence in between before explicit one then it won't get deleted but it'll also generate unnecessary details containing that poetic flowery details. Currently if i want the deleted answer to read before it gets deleted then here's what I'm doing. Step-1 Holding the Ctrl+C Step-2 Constantly holding the mouse cursor on the ongoing rendering answer. Step-3 At the end, when Chatgpt Deletes the output, I just Paste my copied output into Text and read it. If some coder can figure this thing in coding way than even if answer gets deleted but it'll show in the extension tab.

Actually, ChatGPT still sends the response to you. If you export the chat history to your email, you'll see them there. It's just that the WebUI hides them.

Through trial and error, I discovered that you can instruct ChatGPT not to censor content by using certain prompts and saving them to ChatGPT's memory, although it's not 100% effective. You also need to be cautious with your input—if there's anything explicit related to minors with some key word that can be loosely linked to something sexual (even if it's not intentional), it might be removed.

It seems like DeMod is still active, but if both the input and output are flagged, you might only see one of them removed, or none at all, from my end. I’ve encountered several scenarios, such as hidden input with visible output, an output flagged as yellow that later becomes red and gets removed, or cases where something is flagged as red but no ongoing output is shown at all, though it’s not removed. There are also instances where the DeMod fails, but the content still isn’t removed, and more variations like these.

I believe you HAVE TO be very explicit in your prompt—so much so that it results in both the input and output being removed—to reliably trigger red warnings and reproduce the issue (e.g., by explicitly mentioning age and sex in detail, because both could be red warning). That’s the ONLY WAY to consistently trigger it, though it might be impossible in a clean chat since ChatGPT may refuse to respond to your prompt.

I think I finally see the changes OpenAI implemented into the chat since the response that DeMod intercepts are now different from what they used to be, so I implemented changes to handle them correctly.
Could anyone take a look before I push them as an actual update? The changes are available here:

TamperMonkey should open the link and offer to install the script as usual. This test version has some logging commands so it will print additional information to the console logs. If any error occurs, or DeMod still fails to restore the red messages, please attach the console logs here. Preferably by putting them in a text file first.

If you're initial prompt is marked as red, it will still disappear and your response won't even generate

If you're initial prompt is orange, the response will generate and won't get erased prematurely. However, it will still get erased after refreshing.

I just wanted to say that that test update actually does work, at least for my case. I don't remember if demod could retroactively "fill in" blocked messages before, but it works for intercepting messages that would be red-blocked.

Edit: Although I should note as a result, if you navigate to a different conversation and come back, the intercepted message will be gone again.

I also had the same issue in Firefox with moderated messages showing up blank. However, after the latest DeMod update, everything went back to normal. Now, the orange and red warnings show up properly without disappearing, and I don’t need to refresh the conversation. Thanks!

I decided to push the new update as version 5.0. It correctly handles the new response format, which the previous versions of DeMod did not, so the update should work better. If there are any more problems please open a new issue, so I know they are related to the new version.
