Linux Mint 21.2 - can't find MPV player #309

Hi all,

Have been enjoying IPTVnator on Linux Mint 21.2 but it has developed an unusual bug. It insists that MPV Player is not installed or found on the system, even though it is.

Xtreme Codes Playlist seems to load up fine, I get full channel breakdown etc, but when I click on any channel I get the following error message: 'Error:error something went wrong. Make sure that mpv player is install on your system. (Status: 0)

Can anyone suggest how I fix this? It was playing fine a couple of days ago, but now it kicks up this error message. I have tried purging both IPTVnator and MPV and reinstalling both, and specifying the location of mpv in the IPTVnator settings, but to no avail.

Hope someone can help.

Kind regards,

John

Hi John, after changing the path to mpv player in app settings you need to restart iptvnator to apply changes, maybe that will help.

HI 4gray,

Sadly that doesn't make a difference. I (re)load IPTVnator, look at settings and the path (/usr/bin/mpv) is present and correct. But when I click on any stream, it gives me the same error message.

Same issue. Tried vlc, mpv html5 / videoJs won't play

Linux mint 21.3 via snap store Could it be that vlc/mpv is not a snap app
