4ian note: should be easy to fix with a <Trans>
component.
Wrong translation in the Spanish version
in ... Always
Toujours is written and must be "Siempre"
Window and Help are not translated
Toujours is written and must be "Siempre"
Fixed, thank you :)
En pintor de formas dice: The. en vez de: Te.
Y también en el apartado luz no está traducido
Eso es todo lo que vi por el momento reportare si veo algo más ;)
¡Gracias, he corregido las traducciones! Thank you, I have corrected the translations!
The eventsheet should be in French.
I've fixed for is inside condition on crowdin, for the repeat loop translation function is missing. Same in the rest of loops. Except the future loop on structure.
There is a problem with a Spanish translation that cannot be fixed at crowdin: "Key" can be translated to Spanish into "llave" (key to open a door) "Clave" (password) or "Tecla" (a key from a keyboard) so in the editor, for example on P2P actions it appears key as "Tecla" (a keyboard key) instead of "Clave" (a password) or "Llave" (to open a door or something)
There is two bottleneck;
.addParameter('string', _('Key'), '', false)
There's a problem with Spanish translations: on the exportations screens, the things don't appear translated and in crowding there's nothing to translate. Also, I translated everything previously to the Gdevelop release
Things that doesn't appear translated:
[x] Subscription screen
[x] Some things on the formula selector menu
[x] Default name of the created objects
[x] P2P disconnect events
[x] The splash screen customization options
[ ] Other error/info messages
Sorry for the bad image quality....
There is two bottleneck;
- Can the word key be detailed or be specific in the p2p extension?
.addParameter('string', _('Key'), '', false)
- If yes note we soon reach the word limit on Crowdin.
"key" in the p2p section is specific and different, it is "clave" instead of "tecla" In other sections "tecla" is ok
A new untranslated thing discovered: We need your support/subscription pop-up (added to the list) Edit: also discovered new things, added to the list
I added the missing tags for the translations. For the others they were already there, it's just that the translation files have not been updated for the latest builds.
Other error/info messages
Did you know which ones?
Did you know which ones?
If I remember correctly, one of them is the error that appears when a file gets corrupted
There are also other things that are not translated as the default object names "newobject" or text "newtext" scene "newscene"
And the wiki links lead to the documentation in English instead of the corresponding language
"Edit with Piskel" Button is not being translated
Also default values, like Layer, New object or Animation
Watch tutorial
Read the documentation and help
Object timer Spanish translation.
@PascalLadalle Fixed, thanks
I am an educator and work with groups of kids. They are looking for any tutorials for gDevelop, but most of them are in English. In my screenshots, you can see the situation where I want to add the "animation" condition (анимация/animation). In Russian, it works, but in English, it does not. Perhaps all commands should keep English tags, and any English tutorial will be suitable for other languages. And one more, can you share the most popular extensions for translation, like health, fire bullets, camera, etc.?
I tried to contact about translation but... it is no use, can not get any attention, so I will paste here some examples:
1) Language: "język polski" (in preferences) Why is it: every language is like "English", "Espanol", "Italiano" "Nihongo" etc. but in polish, we have "LANGUAGE POLISH" (język = language) , I believe it would look better, if the translation would be consistent and it would say simply "Polski (Polish)". Can not change this one, so have to post.
2) CANCEL BUTTON in EXIT Closing the Gdevelop app (by "X"), there is a pop-up dialog, Are you sure you want to close GDevelop, right? You have 2 options: [OK], and [Cancel] Seems I can not find this [Cancel] to translate. It should be "Anuluj". Not sure why, but it is like this, and I believe this button should be translated. I've checked other languages options as well. . . It is like that for every language.
3) ENDING
Oh my god, lots of sentences are badly translated
Yes this is a good one! Indeed I notice a lot, I mean a A LOT(!) of sentences that are ... not bad, but chaotic and total disaster, sometimes even the translation to polish makes no sense at all. If the translator would made "automatic translation" (word by word) it would made more sense. I really do not want to publicly point out here people, since I understand that everyone is... "trying their best" in their "free time", and quality might be variant...
So I am reaching out here to... someone, do not who.... I am also on discord, I would be pleased if someone from GDevelop, would talk with me from time to time on DM (or I could have a "green light" to talk to someone about translation) without worries about taking a warning or ban.
PS: take note that for the past month, I had made 40% of the Polish translation and daily I am working on the translation, so simply I would like to talk about the translation and other stuff as well.
I am considering joining the Community Advocate, but still have to many questions, that are looking for an answer.
Good day!
We could I think make you a proofreader for Polish on Crowdin, so you can remove the bad translation and replace them. What do you think? Would you be interested?
Sure we can do like that, yesterday I had finish the translation, it is already at 100%, so soon I was thinking of "checking" all terms, how it looks like, what make sense, etc.
...and write some correction for it.
Being a proofreader might help, if I can somehow "mark" what term is good, what stays and should not be changed. That would be good solution.
@ReptiIe I've given you the role of proofreader on Crowdin.
Thank you @Bouh
@Bouh in my language, 100% of the translation was completed, but about 7% was approved. If the approved mark is important, I will try it if you give me that role.

Hello thank you for your help, the translations don't have to be all approved to be in the application.
Here is a sample of another missing translation (I can not find it)
This is the window "about GDevelop" where you can check for updates. So there we have it.
1) No updates 2) Button to check for updates.
@Bouh Great job! I already fix missing translation for it. Thank you.
Can you also fix those things that I mention in my 1st post as well?
I will post again, here: (1)
instead of język polski (Polish)
it should be Polski (Polish)
(2) And this window: When you CLOSE GDEVELOP, you see this window.
Buttons are not translated.
The OK
is ok, alright!, but the Cancel
should be Anuluj
here.
instead of język polski (Polish) it should be Polski (Polish)
The change for the language name is tricker than I expected, it depend of an external package, the author did the change years ago. @4ian need to update the package 'iso-639-1' to minimum 2.1.10
For the Ok/Cancel I know we've to use I18n from a higher component properly but I don't know how to do that. Note if we success to translate them, it will looks like this:
At start (of the GDevelop software)
"Loading the editor..."
Another missing word - not sure if this is only 1 or 3 of them since there are int the same place:
Open Project manager
(of course I have a clean project, nothing there),
(empty)
Yes it is empty, that is correct, but I guess we should be able to translate this one as well 😄
EDIT 30/08/2024 The same screen above - this menu. Is it possible to make it a bit wider? Seems like it is "too small" and translation is cut off. Here is another screen just in case:
maybe it would be good if
or
Translations are done by the community. If while using GDevelop in your language (other than English), you come across some badly translated sentences, you can:
There is something specific that is not translated properly
Thanks a lot for helping GDevelop!
Oh my god, lots of sentences are badly translated
Post a message here with 5/6 different sentences that are badly translated. It's surely because of a translator that did bad translations. I'll go on Crowdin and remove all the translations from this person if it turns out that everything is badly translated.
Are you an expert/native speaker in a language and really good at English too?
Reach out to me (find my contact on my GitHub profile) so that I can set you as a proof reader. You'll be able to pick the right translations.
