I had the same problem, which was solved by (1) removing the Lenovo BT ‘daughterboard’ and (2) enabling all IO ports especially Wimax, as decribed in https://github.com/5T33Z0/Lenovo-T530-Hackintosh-OpenCore/issues/43#issuecomment-1604573703 Lenovo BT 4.0 can only work if the hardware still is in your machine. Then it takes preference over the BT in the AC-7260.
The T530 doesn't have such a module, I think. I also don't have an IO port called Wimax, I think
Boards like that are sold at ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/324289830626

Edit: take a look at the 2nd picture on ebay. It even has the same French description with a reference to Maroc as on the daughterboard in my X230T.
I think that's the name of the device in Device Manager. Hmm, then I guess I have to locate it inside the chassis somewhere. Thanks.
See https://2jb.de/en/products/bluetooth-4-0-karte-60y3303-fur-ibm-lenovo-thinkpad-fru60y3303 as well.

Damn, I have to disassemble the machine to reach this. It's weird that this doesn't affect the broadcom card but hinders the intel card's bluetooth from working in macOS
Yeah, I know. I had to open my X230T a second time, after I had already closed it.
The installation position of the module varies depending on the model, often it is inside the screen or under the palm rest.
In my case it was under the palm rest. I hope yours is not inside the screen.
Edit. Looks like it under the palm rest as well: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-T400-T500-and-newer-T-series-Laptops/T530-Bluetooth-disconnecting-when-I-pick-up-the-laptop/m-p/1799335?page=1#1824912
I have removed the old BT card and put the Intel card it. I found the WLAN driver, but I can't find the BT driver for the card since the drivers have been removd from Intel's site. : https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000030330/wireless/intel-wireless-ac-products.html
And I can't get BT to work in macOS either. I tripple checked the card. It's an Intel AC-7260 HMW and it supports BT 4.0 according to specs.
For Windows: Intel has a program that analyses your machine and installs the drivers: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html That worked for my AX210.
BTW: I did not yet try to get Intel BT working on my Ventura Hack, so I cannot tell you if it works in macOS. But it works in Windows 10.
Intel Driver Support Utility only works for supported products not for EOL products that have been removed from the site.
Removing the small bt card from the system results in the main Broadcom card no longer working either. I am so done with this crap. I am done with sonoma support on this machine as well.
https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/10aet6s/where_to_get_drivers_for_intel_dual_band/
Came across this issue today, it's super obnoxious that Intel has removed the drivers for EOL products.
The Wireless-N 7260 card was used in the DN2820FY NUC; the drivers for the Wireless-N and Wireless-AC cards are identical.
The latest 7260 Bluetooth and WiFi drivers (v21.10.1 released on 2019-04-12) are still available direct from Intel, just hidden away in the DN2820FY drivers page:
Thanks but I am done with this. My Broadcom 4360 does no longer work properly – BT is gone – no longer available, missing from Sytsem Preferences as well. So this attempetd upgrade was more like a burial.
I wonder if this could be the issues that the BT entry doesn't appear at all in macOS and Windows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mw5HLg2rGuk
Could be. I did never hear about the necessity to disable pin 51. AFAIR, there was no unrecognized device with my AX210 after removing the BT daughter card and before I ran the Intel Driver Support Assistant, but I am not sure about that. And there is the strange thing that Wimax port access has to be enabled in my BIOS settings.
Did you try installing the Wireless Bluetooth driver, linked on reddit?
Of course I did. But as I said at least twice before: the bluetooth device itself is no longer detected in Windows nor in macOS – and I am talking about both my Boradcom and the intel card. I even reflashed the bios and the 1vyrain jailbreak. I think this board is dying. Covering pin 51 didn't change anything.
I saw there's an extra branch for OCLP for the Sonoma Development: https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/tree/sonoma-development
And Insttructions to build it on your own: https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/blob/sonoma-development/SOURCE.md
So I did:
Will test it now and see If it can patch iGPU drivers already.
This PR is primarily for tracking development of patch sets and changes implemented in code base. This PR is not functional outside of members enrolled in the DortaniaInternal program. So no patching yet!
Latest OCLP 0.6.8 and the AirportItlwm preview for Sonoma working fine on my T430 You have to disable AMFI and some apps like photos are crashing
Did you upgrade to developer beta 3 or public beta 1? I am downloading the installer for public beta 1 right now. And wll apply that to my virtualbox Sonoma.
Edit: about 3 hours and 6 minutes remaining …
The patcher includes some kexts to work around the Broadcom situation:
Intel HD 4000 accell is working:
There have been a lot of updates lately. See https://mrmacintosh.com/macos-sonoma-full-installer-database-download-directly-from-apple/ I am currently installing 23A5301h on my VirtualboxSonoma. Before that I was attended to the update of the Xcode 15 beta 5 Command line utilities. So I had to update Xcode 15 to beta 5 as well. Luckily the download went straight to the ‘xip’ file and the update went straightforward.
I MANAGED TO GET BROADCOM WIFI WORKING IN SONOMA!!!!
I'll uploade the new EFI later!
Thanks but I am done with this. My Broadcom 4360 does no longer work properly – BT is gone – no longer available, missing from Sytsem Preferences as well. So this attempetd upgrade was more like a burial.
Did you also get BT working once again?
After swapping back from the intel card to the broadcom all of a sudden the Bluetoth option was back again. It was missing from system settings completely before. And since Bluetooth worked before that it also works now.
So I don't have to use the Intel Card any longer which really didn't work well at all if you did more thant one thing at a time.
Fantastic work here!
I noticed that the VoodooPS2 kext GitHub repo has a number of ACPI patches and among those is SSDT-Thinkpad_Clickpad.dsl. The patch is Thinkpad model-agnostic and it fixes trackpoint + middle button scrolling. It fixes the middle mouse button + trackpoint errata (where scrolling above clickable objects would immediately enact several left clicks at once) though at the cost of a functional trackpad. I did find this however: SSDT-Thinkpad_Trackpad.dsl which fails to compile with MaciASL.
Hope my findings are helpful to someone!
Which OS do you prefer at the moment? Xcode 15 installed fine in Ventura and will probably supported for quite a while. Somewhere around Xcode 15.3 or 15.4 Sonoma will be required, so I can stick to using Ventura as my main OS for about half a year. Is Sonoma snappier at the moment than Ventura? Do you experience advantages for using Sonoma above Ventura?
I don't use this Notebook any longer. I only keep the EFI up to date. I used to use Big Sur for daily driving. A new update released a couple of days ago.
OCLP 1.0.0 is out and this time, it detected BRCM4352 automatically. So no more fiddling in the source code is required.
Trying to get 14.1 to work. 14.0 works fine. The installer works, but in the second install stage I get this error loop. Seems to be related to USB respectively the Wifi/BT Card connected to it:
Does this only happen on a fresh install or also on a in place upgrade from 14.0 to 14.1? FYI: Yesterday I created a second instance of my production Ventura in another HDD-partition with the help of TimeMachine. Next step will be an upgrade to Sonoma.
New EFI update is avaiable. It's working now, but I needed to install via USB stick for reasons I cannot comprehend. Anyway, Sonoma is running pretty smooth so far. Still wouldn't recommend using it as a main OS. 3D Globe in Maps works as well.
Wi-FI and iGPU Root Patches working fine with OCLP 1.2.0
macOS 14.2 beta 2 surprises with a new issue:
It seens that the underlying issue is that the WIndowServer crashes:
I have been getting the login loop with 14.2, b2 and b3 so I have stayed with 14.1.1 which has been working with OCLP 1.2.1
Thanks.
I also noticed that Intel Power Gadget and the EnergyDriver.kext it installs is causing the CPU to run at 100% in 14.2 beta 3 all the time on my Lenovo T490 (Whiskey Lake) so the CPU temp was constantly over 90°C. I had to uninstall it. After that everything was back to normal.
Maybe that's the reason why Intel just discontinued the Power Gadget, to not bother fixing it
@jozews321 I guess it's because it was designed for "traditional" multicore CPUs, not the newer ones with Big and Small cores. They have a new tool now: https://github.com/intel/pcm
But I don't know how to build it. Any assistance would be appreciated.
I just built it following the normal instructions in the readme, and it builds fine and the kext installs correctly but I get an issue running the pcm program
Looks like an access issue, anyway here are the binaries
bin.zip
install with sudo make install
, reboot and run the program with ./pcm
@jozews321 Thanks a lot. I will try it tomorrow
@jozews321 So I downloaded the bin, extracted it and put the bin folder inside the pcm-master with the source code and ran sudo make install
. But I get this error:
make: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop.
EDIT: I managed to run the install command, now I am trying to figure out which of these tools is for monitoring CPU freqs. ;)
@5T33Z0 With your latest release I made the jump yesterday to Sonoma 14.1.1 (on a separate partition of my SSD). That is with a Lenovo X230t on 1366x768. One odd thing: screen sharing from a Windows laptop or from an iPad (using a VNC client) establishes a connection, but presents an totally black screen. Does screen sharing work on your Sonoma?

@jackacc English please! Don't install 14.2 beta 3 yet. OpenCore Patcher has to be updated first.
@Jan-E I am not using screen sharing so I don't know. If you want me to test it, I need a guide.
@Jan-E I am not using screen sharing so I don't know. If you want me to test it, I need a guide.
Let me just test it a little bit further. There are a lot of changes with respect to screen sharing in Sonoma. In Ventura it was just enabling screen sharing on the Mac and connecting with a VNC client like realVNC to the IP-address on your local network. In my case: connect to 192.168.188.134 on port 5900.
@jozews321 So I downloaded the bin, extracted it and put the bin folder inside the pcm-master with the source code and ran
sudo make install
. But I get this error:make: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop.
EDIT: I managed to run the install command, now I am trying to figure out which of these tools is for monitoring CPU freqs. ;)
Can you show the output of ./pcm on your t530?
@jozews321 Yes. But the way the data is presented is not really useful. You can use a GUI to display the data in called grafana which can be installed via Homebrew but I haven't managed to combine the 2.
I've created a guide for compiling, installing and running PCM:
Hey @5T33Z0 I found a way to fix the Base system peripheral icon in the menu bar that appears in Ventura+
Its a kernel patch that fixes internal pcie devices showing up as expresscard like the sdcard controller in my T430, I'm not completely sure if that is an issue in the T530 but if it is here are the patches patches.plist.zip
Also, have you tested using an sdcard with voodoosdhc in Sonoma? I remember doing it back in Ventura but its not showing up in Sonoma, but also the slot could be broken in my machine as its not working on linux either
@jozews321 Awesome. Thank you. Ahh, I know these patches. They are in the the OCLP config as well and are present in my config, too. That's why I don't have this Icon in my systmen. So that's what they are for. Great.
As far as SD Card Slot is concerned. Mine doesn't work reliably either anymore. Will check later. I rarely use this system anymore.
@jozews321 SD Card Reader is working again.
But not initially. I sprayed some brake cleaner on the contacts of the card then inserted and ejected it a couple of times to clean the contacts. After rebooting it works now.
Another thing:
On my real iMac, I recently installed Sonoma from USB stick to a new volume (clean). I also had copied OCLP onto it since my iMac requires wifi patches. But after reaching the desktop, the system was alread root patched.
I wonder if this has something to do with the AutoPkgInstaller.kext
… hmm…
