Not possible to initiate a tx with Coinbase wallet via WalletLink

Context

A request from the Safe chat in Discord:

Mr. BahamaToday at 6:05 AM Hello, will we be able to use keepkey any time soon on Gnosis safe? Also have you noticed a bug when initiating transactions from coinbase wallet app? I am never able to conduct a multi-sig transaction by signing with my Coinbase wallet first (before signing with other wallet providers). I have to first use a different wallet to sign a transaction and then sign it on my coinbase wallet (for 2/3 signers). It won't let me sign it on my coinbase wallet first.

Steps to reproduce

(On Rinkeby, production)

1. Have a Safe with a Coinbase wallet owner
2. Connect to web interface via WalletLink
3. Create a tx
4. Sign on mobile wallet -> Tx doesn't show up (Error on console: Error creating the TX - an attempt to get the error message: Signatures data too short
