I was working on dialing in my support settings, and figured having a model to test it would be really useful. I believe the wiki page summarizes the goals pretty well.
Test 4 situations for support:
Flat section directly over build plate
Curved section directly over build plate
Flat section over flat part of model
Curved section over curved section of model
I think these are 4 common support situations in ascending difficulty, and having a fast test part to run as support settings are dialed in is helpful. As generated, the support structures should be separate, so it's also easier to run tests on the simpler ones to dial in settings without worrying about breaking the part by removing the stubbornly attached supports from the other tests.
