Rollable tables cannot currently pull items into chat the same way that a rollable table set up to reference an item in a compendium can.
Who would use it?
Anyone who uses rollable tables and doesn't want to set up static links that might become "stale"
How would it work?
Not sure... hopefully it would be similar to the way you can set up a rollable table to reference items in a compendium. Rollable tables like this also allow you to generate loot to a token using Item Piles, which is great.
Why should this be added?
Randomizing loot tables is always a fun mechanic and this would allow for additional automation when DMs are generating loot. Too often I have to generate loot from a table and then import items manually from Plutonium because the SRD item that was generated doesn't have the correct effects/automations on it
