Feature Request: Local Install out of date/need to update notification.

Extra Information ... this will require a split in the code for local install source - but the ability to - if its online, check against a repo to see if new code has been released and poke/prompt visually of the site's source can be updated. It should ideally be a configuration setting that can be disabled for those doing strictly offline. Who would use it? Local installs How would it work? as above. Why should this be added? For local installs -- prompting for updating. (also to make the basis perhaps for Homebrew updating) ...

I'd also consider making the message have a prompt for Patreon support as well.

Technically this could also work for the live version. Let it check against the version file and warn that there is a new version to Ctrl F5 to. Then it would no longer require a split in code for live/local
