I think we'd see a higher network hashrate if it was easier for GPU farmers to use it easily on Hive OS. There is documentation on how to package this up: https://github.com/minershive/hiveos-linux/tree/master/hive/miners/custom
and some examples of existing packages, like gminer: https://github.com/minershive/hiveos-linux/tree/master/hive/miners/gminer
It would be even easier if the miner emitted more detailed data. See #9
