FYI. I did not have any luck with vagrant versions less than 1.6.5.

@Iheartweb Possible you can provide some output on older versions or point us to where problems occur?

hmm, that's odd. I wrote it and I'm using 1.6.3. I'll try to reproduce the issue you are seeing, but could you provide more info?
