I can't reproduce what you're describing - Check out the sample eightysix sprites demo, and try reporting the issue at the AtariAge 7800basic support thread with some sample code. That way others can pitch in to help you correct your code, or indeed determine if it's a bug.
I tried plotsprite4 for my latest game project and that is because I really want to fix the sprite limit issue. When I compile it to run on the emulator, it only showed the only a small part of the sprite I drawn. The sprite is 32 pixels wide and 32 pixels all that looks like a peach rocket with rounded capsule that will detach when the launch reaches the climax.
