Tylar I got a message that says that "now the branch can be safely deleted." So, after I requested a pull you get a message to accept my request, which means to merge my editing to your main branch? I still don't understand very well the pull request purpose.

...so when it says that I can "safely delete the branch" it means that is already merged with your main branch and that I don't need the branch anymore?

Yes, exactly.

Pull requests are a way to prompt the owner of the main repository to review your suggested changes and decide to merge them.
