Hide App Icons (in favorites) #140

Closed 8bitPit closed 3 years ago

rastamanjohn commented 5 years ago

Why tho? I'd rather hide app names, so to fit more icons...

ZeRoZeRoRaZ commented 5 years ago

ascetic look I suppose

vbujanca commented 5 years ago

+1 (for hiding icons). Please and thank you!

sourstripe commented 5 years ago

+1 for this. I would love the aesthetic

picroger commented 5 years ago

The pure app names list would be a awesome look

highfiverobot commented 5 years ago

Would love this as well!

premnirmal commented 4 years ago

Would be nice if it's possible for all icons not just favorites

jurf commented 4 years ago

For me icons are really distracting; I highly prefer the Light Phone look. Would love the ability to hide the icons!

k10wa commented 4 years ago

Great idea, would love it!

:+1:

Reverendissimo commented 4 years ago

i'll love to have the option to remove the icons and leave just a seamless list of app name (possibly the ability to decide how much spacing between one line and the other) image

8bitPit commented 4 years ago

@Reverendissimo Sorry, this will not be implemented in the near future: https://github.com/8bitPit/Niagara-Issues/issues/304

Reverendissimo commented 4 years ago

@Reverendissimo Niagara Launcher lets you customize your wallpaper, app icons and the look of app names. Loading saving themes isn't supported yet, though: https://github.com/8bitPit/Niagara-Issues/issues/990

Imjustcurious commented 4 years ago

I'd also like to globally hide the app icons. :)

drfiresign commented 3 years ago

Adding my voice to this chorus here of no icon app listing! Love love love the app!

8bitPit commented 3 years ago

Hey everyone, we tried hiding icons completely, but it wasn't very appealing. We worked around this by replacing the app icons with simple dots instead of hiding them. We call this feature Niagara Dots. It works as an icon pack and can be applied with Niagara Pro since v0.90: https://medium.com/niagara-launcher/niagaras-new-years-update-a99cd8bd287c

JoonaRepo commented 5 months ago

I would like to voice my preference for no icons even though dots are implemented. Maybe this can be reconsidered at some point?

8bitPit commented 4 months ago

I'm sorry @JoonaRepo, but we do not plan to hide icons.
