Hmm yeah possibly. There is a method called setWallpaperOffsets in Android's WallpaperManager class, but I didn't tried it out yet.

Coming from Windows Phone, what initially drew me to Niagara launcher was it's vertical app list. Another feature WP has was a "paralax effect", which you could turn on. Essentially, when scrolling, the background scrolled as well, but at much slower speed then the content in front of it. You can see it in action here. One slight negative is that it requires you to find pretty long wallpaper. Windows Phone requires image ratio of 2:1. I think it could be cool addition.
To better plan ahead and to give users an estimate which features will be added to Niagara, I’ve decided to close all feature requests that that are unlikely to be implemented in the next year (2020). This is one of those, unfortunately. I'm sorry. Feel free to open this ticket again in 2021 or later.
Opening this as an new issue for compatibility with doodle live wallpaper
My use case: there are quite a few launchers / wallpaper apps that support horizontal parallax scrolling. Personally I use Muzei.
It would be neat, when scrolling the alphabet list in Niagara, the wallpaper would move (parallax effect) horizontally.
Well seeing as the wallpapers are actually provided though the android system, this would be a rather combersom thing to do.
