Frontaxle drifting, Welger DK 115 #11

Hello,

first of all, I love your mods, finally a replacement for more-realistic (LS17) which is easy to use. But I noticed a strange behaviour with the Welger DK 115. When you drive on fields the front axle starts sliding to either to the left or right which is getting significant stronger the more it gets filled up. When you let the tractor pull it at around 5kph the trailer sets itself around 70cm to the side and as soon as you stop it even starts pushing the tractor as soon as it hits the maximum attacher angle. I noticed this behaviour also in your LS19 version, where the "kuhn mergemax" was unusable and some seeders couldn't be used with AI worker. I watched into the debug menu and the only thing I noticed was, that the slip graph where permanently jumping. Other than that I can't figure something out. In the picture I just let the tractor roll at 5kph in a straight line. Sliding .

hi there, i have the same problem, and had this also in FS17 with the MR engine, and in fs19 as well. As soon as you use any trailer that has a "dolly like setup" , and youre in a field, when it gets weight on /in it, the dolly-part will indeed start to slide. The only way to overcome this, is the change the Mass of the components, so that the dolly part is the heaviest of the whole trailer, and that when loaded the additional weight is put more or less complete on the lighter back axle.. thats the only way to minimize the problem. even when loading bales onto a trailer with a dolly, it will slide when it is in a field, even on a field with grass.. but when the wheels leave the Field, then the sliding stops.., and i guess thats not an easy fix, or even fixable at all. The only way i can think of is to give the components that are a "dolly" part a HUGE amount of lateral resistance, so it would not be able to slip, but that could create problems with a double-axle dolly.

thx mrPassion. please let me know two details:

  1. how much is "a HUGE"?
  2. if I'm using wheels from the game, is there a parameter for overwriting "in game" values in vehicle XML definition? (something like 'forcePointRatio'?)
mrPassion78 commented 2 years ago

Hi DrewCZ, to be honest, i have never changed any of those settings sins i am not shure as to what i am changing, I know that 900hasse ( Hans ) gave the wheels more friction sideways when in a turn, and thats the thing that should be increased somehow, just for the "dolly part". The 1 thing i tested yesterday, is when you use a real dolly, and a trailer , then the sliding is gone, until overloading the trailer and dolly. So i think it happens a lot when it is just 1 component, instead of 2 separate mods.

Hello! Not much action from my side here, sorry about that. This issue can be noticed also without REA but not that much. //Hans

In wheel XML I found: maxLatStiffness="100" maxLatStiffnessLoad="2" (default values) so, I think and can confirm that when loaded, this trailer slid to the side away (cca 1m). Tests: switch to 100, 100 = after loading, trailer move, but less (tens of cm) switch to 100, 1000 = after loading, trailer move, but less (few cm), better, but not always (as usual inFS 😄 )

Hi Hans, no problemo, you cannot be on top of everything 🥇 ... and i never really played fs19 without REA, so i have no idea LOL :D

That is a good test.. i will start to use that in the following weekends when i have time.. thnx Drew .
