Black screen with divx player in 1.63b? #49

It's a bug in the 1.63b or movies who are make with old codec version 
don't work with new codec ?

divx has degraded horribly over time since it became commercial.
it is always recommended to use a better, more compatible player such as media 
player classic home cinema (http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/).
also from looking at that forum post, i don't agree about avi not retaining 5.1 
sound.
it is possible to encode a ac3 into a divx avi container.

autogk is old but it works, im sure you can find something better.

AC3Filter was built with media player classic in mind when they first started.
media player home cinema is the current top media player i recommend for 
everyone with ffdshow codec bundle installed.
