Yes, I also experience the same issue.
Motorola Milestone, android 2.1-update1.
Prevents me from installing Windows :( The setup works fine, but as it cannot
write
anything it fails. BTW, is it possible to use function keys like F1 and F3. It
would
be possible to map them to alt + shift + numbers keys I think?

It looks like this may have been fixed in Revision 48. Hopefully a new release
will
come soon. In addition, see Issue 2, Problem entering #s for function keys.
using
mapper.txt, you can do this

Ok, newbie question .. I see the code has been changed to allow the program to
write to the SD card. I downloaded the app, but still cannot. Are the changes
in Revision 48 not applied to the download? How can I modify the apk that I
have to apply the changes? Really frustrating to have the app but not be able
to use it for much because I can't save anything.
Thanks!

Second newbie question. The download have not been changed to write or create
files. When will the download be updated? I can only second what ewalsh71
writes, DOSBox gets pretty useless when not being able to write or create
files. Many DOS games crashes when not being able to save scorelists, the
scorelists is not a big problem itself, but it is a real big problem when the
games and apps crashes. Otherwise aDOSBox is a slick emulator, and I look
forward to use it on my phone. The alpha works very stable for me, it would be
a big step forward to fix this issue.

Since it will be a security problem to grant aDOSBox write access to the entire
SD card, I would suggest to grant full access to a folder on the SD card. For
example this folder could be called "drive_c" (without the quotation marks).
Then you would have to mount the drive_c folder in dosbox.conf: mount c
\sdcard\drive_c
