Using the various media control functions does not seem to work with Spotify. I've tested on a Galaxy Nexus and a Nexus 5, both running the latest version of 4.4, both rooted.

With the Volumio Team's Spotify plugin, the next and previous button functions only control the Volumio queue, not the Spotify playlist.
