I would like to pose a question about the code implementation of (incoherent) TL: I have executed some simulation of acoustic propagation in shallow waters in the summer period of the Mediterranean Sea (I'm posting as an example the .env file I used, as well as the relative .brc and .bty). One thing that comes out is that rays no longer propagate after a certain distance, in other words a shadow zone appear in the TL plot at the most distant ranges: I'm assuming that this is caused by the losses due to the multiple bottom reflections and thus the reaching of a lower threshold for the pressure level.
I'm asking you whether this statement is correct (since I haven't found an answer in the doc) and, if so, it's possible to adjust such parameter in some way.
Greetings,
I would like to pose a question about the code implementation of (incoherent) TL: I have executed some simulation of acoustic propagation in shallow waters in the summer period of the Mediterranean Sea (I'm posting as an example the
.env
file I used, as well as the relative.brc
and.bty
). One thing that comes out is that rays no longer propagate after a certain distance, in other words a shadow zone appear in the TL plot at the most distant ranges: I'm assuming that this is caused by the losses due to the multiple bottom reflections and thus the reaching of a lower threshold for the pressure level.I'm asking you whether this statement is correct (since I haven't found an answer in the doc) and, if so, it's possible to adjust such parameter in some way.
Thank you in advance
