Previously working HIDEMODE item not working

What steps will reproduce the problem?
profile not signed in.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expect to not see the semi-transparent box that is set to HIDEMODE:HIDE
box is shown always

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

I have a semi-transparent box that goes around profiles that did hide/show
correctly- hidden when no profile signed-in/ show when one was. somewhere
between 203 and 208 (couldn't build) this has stopped working properly. the
box shows all time now.

any help?
