I guess I'd call it an enhancement, but yes, I'd love to have the option back,
if that's possible.
The swiping is clever, but it takes the most used buttons and puts them behind
a sub-menu. If screen space is at an absolute premium, I'd agree, but I'd
shrink everything else first, rather than make input slower. I can tap
1-2-3-4-6 much faster than I could ever swipe it.
The swiping means you're going over the board, so you can't easily see what you
picked (thus the marquee thing, I guess?), and normally I'd be examining the
board while filling it in (which I can't when my fat hand is in the way).
Hope I'm not sounding too critical, but I love the game and I'm not sure I'm
dextrous enough to get used to the new interface.

I appreciate this free app, really I do. But I don't like this change at all.
Is there a way to go back to the previous version? In fact, I'd prefer a
version before that because I didn't care for the change in how the puzzles got
generated which made then harder.

Totally agree. I miss the old number input. Thus does not work well on my phone.

I love Mathdoku! But please, please, please allow the old input method.
Actually, I'm not a fan of all the new changes but most importantly the input
method. I'm going through some serious Mathdoku withdrawal at the moment. If
I had to gripe about one more little thing, I would suggest allowing maybes to
be turned off. I don't use them and an accidental tap slows me down. I play
for time and I'm quite fast. I'm a fellow Android hobbyist and I truly
appreciate this outstanding app!

Agreed. I would go so far as to argue with the point that the new input design
is "clever" - it's creative, but I don't know that I'd call it clever, since
it is difficult to use.
Please, please, please, bring back the old input method. The current one is
basically unusable for my old, fat fingers.

I would go so far as to call the new input method completely unusable. I
typically play 9x9s and, with the old input method, I could fill all the maybes
in under five minutes... 3 if I was hurrying. With this new input method, I
frequently make mistakes by clicking on the wrong cell and it takes the better
part of an hour to fill in the grid of maybes. On top of that, it's really hard
to fill in numbers along the edges. E.g. try putting a five in the right most
column along the right edge.
I can't use your application until this is fixed. Which is too bad because this
used to be a really good game.

Mathdoku has been my favorite game on my phone for quite a while, but the new
swipe to choose numbers really leaves it unplayable for me. I would simply
downgrade if I could. I hope that you decide to add the old user interface back
in!

I only use 9x9 grids and the new number input makes this very difficult I would
also like an option to allow the old way of inputting numbers.

I totally agree. I play this game all the time, but will stop until the old
input method is put back in the game. Using swipe is way to cumbersome and
frustrating.

I agree. Love love love the game, but not a fan of the circular input. It's a
cool idea but less efficient than the old way. Please include an option for the
old input. By the way, this is the only game I have on my phone. Thanks for the
(mostly) awesome program!

I love the game but this swipe method makes me hate the game. At least make it
an option. This was a very bad idea

I echo the comments of the others. Please bring back the old style number pad.
The swipe thing is too hard to use.

I'd like to also add to requests for the old methoid - the new way of entering
numbers is clever, but too fiddly and is to the detriment of what is my
favourite Android game. Please give us the option of the old number entry
method. Thanks !

Agree with above. New input method is "cute" and very, very annoying. How can
we download old version?

Samsung tab 2. Please bring back previous input method.

This WAS an unbelievably great game. Then you expanded the allowable cell
shapes, and I wished you offered the option to go back. But it was still my #1
game. Now, AAAAARGH! It's unplayable with those rings. Different doesn't
mean better. Please offer the old input method!!

+1 on this topic. This new input makes me very sad. I'm willing to pay for this
game is only you would bring back the old input. The game was so good as it
was. I also agree that turning off maybes would be great. Thank you!

I agree, it's much more awkward to enter numbers with the new input interface.
It also makes it much more difficult to see the values and boundaries of any of
the cells underneath the interface. Maybe it's different on other devices, but
on mine (Galaxy S4), there's a lot of empty space at the bottom of the screen
that would allow the previous number buttons to be displayed. Please make the
method of number input an optional setting!

FYI and FWIW, it is possible to revert to the old version of the app, since it
is available via the web site; I'll highlight the steps, but not provide
details - if you don't understand the details without me telling you, then you
probably should NOT do this - only the wary and well-informed should proceed.
NO GUARANTEES, NO WARRANTIES, NO RESPONSIBILITY, you are on your own.
1: Google Play Store, disable auto-update of Mathdoku
2: Device security settings, allow unknown sources
3: From your device, visit this page, click on downloads, download the 1.96 APK
4: When prompted, choose "package installer" (I used "just once", YMMV, cf note
above re guarantees, etc.)
5: Start the app a few times, it may die once or twice.
6: Revert your security settings (return to prohibiting unknown sources)
I think that's it. YMMV, IANAL, YAOYO (you are on your own).
