Impedance switches are meant to adjust the capacitance on the input of the preamp. This works with the inductance of the cartridge coil to provide a flat response. V1 hard set this with the typical recommendation of 150 pF. But if you add in the typical cable capacitance, this is probably too high. Need to find a good way of simulating this problem to see how much effect there is.
