We would like our users to be able to use ESMValTool with native (non-cmor) output of ACCESS-ESM model.
Some work has been done for CESM, ICON and other models: Here is a paper describing how it works: https://gmd.copernicus.org/articles/16/315/2023/

Initial discussion with @rhaegar325 concluded that we could try one variable (tas) and maybe leverage APP4.
