Required experiment configuration (from Rogers notes)

1979–2014 with monthly mean SST and sea-ice

Forcing methods: All (same as CMIP historical); CO2 concentrations prescribed • Solar variability • Volcanic aerosols • CO2 concentrations – time varying global annual mean. Similarly for other LLGHGs. • Aerosols • Land use

The GA7.1 AMIP experiment u-aj458-gregorian was using the Met Office evaluation configuration. This uses

daily SST rather than monthly
time varying GHGs,
climatological ozone
no solar variability
NH3 and SO2 emissions vary monthly and year to year (though CMIP5 based and interannual variation is interpolated from decadal data). Other emissions climatological.
No volcanic forcing
