The script, "ScpBufrToRaijin" is not a good starting point for what I want to do. I will write a new script (which is described in #355) and close this ticket.

| by jtl548@nci.org.auUp until now our global suites used the ASCAT L2 soil wetness data that are archived on sam: sam:/global/ha-sam/mrlr/gen/idharss/ascat. This archive has problems,
"ascatq.20101107_1.bufr" to "ascatq.20161010_1.bufr"
. missing data between 20160108 and 20160116 . smaller file sizes for 20160107 and 20160117
201701/, 201702/, etc.
. only MetOp-1 (=MetOp-B) . missing data between 20161011 and 20170102 . Bufr files for 20170106 and 20170107 seem small
The new suites which are used for all-sky work and which Fiona is porting currently (they are based on the PS39 and PS40 global standard suites) require ASCAT Bufr files which are not in the sam archive. We will have to use ASCAT data which are available from marsop.
Note 1. In marsop only MetOp-2 (=MetOp-B) is available Note 2. In marsdev only MetOp-1 is available; also the data from marsdev show strange lines which are perpendicular to swathes
This ticket describes changes made to the "ScpBufrToRaijin" scripts to allow retrievals of ASCAT data from marsop and their transfer to Raijin.
