UM sends grid box averaged fluxes to the coupler, which are conservatively re-mapped and sent to MOM. For fluxes not shared with CICE (e.g. latent heats, short wave, long wave) this correctly conserves the fluxes.
For fluxes shared with CICE, only the portion of the flux over the ice-free sea should be sent (scale by ocean fraction in CMEPS).
