Calibration

Looks good overall.

As a result, in step 19 hif_applycal, the bandpass calibrator of this EB shows a glitch in the phase/amp vs time plots. However this should not affect the bandpass calibration a lot, which considers a different dimension (phase/amp vs. freq). image

Continuum imaging

Continuum identification (hif_findcont) is questionable, and can be improved a lot. This is part of Sgr B2, so there are lots of lines. The continuum image looks ok, but may need careful masking and/or selfcal. image

Line imaging

Hipergator pipeline run -- line imaging

Only spws 16/18/22 show up in the weblog (with low QA scores). There are errors for other spws.
And the other spws do not exist in globus. @keflavich could you take a look?

xinglunju commented 1 year ago

Note to myself: this one needs a better cont.dat which cannot be done with editing the json script. I will try something on a local machine.

xinglunju commented 1 year ago

As one of the SgrB2 fileds, this one can really be improved by a careful inspection of cont.dat, but I guess this is beyond the point of weblog reviews. So I will tentatively mark this one as 'done'.

@keflavich @xinglunju

I couldn't find line cube of spw24 under /working. it looks like tclean stop at some point?

xinglunju commented 1 year ago

@pyhsiehATalma The cube of spw24 is available under /working now.

The cube looks fine overall.

However, toward the upper left corner, the bright source Sgr B2(M) has some continuum baseline issue, which is not surprising... I guess we can do a baseline subtraction in the image domain. image

@xinglunju thanks for the manual imaging of spw24. I downloaded the cube. Here is just one thing minor, the cube has multiple synthesize beam information per channel, could you please run imsmooth with kernal='common' and upload the cube again? I have done it locally for the purpose of mosaic. I think feather will fail with multiple synthesize beam cube.

imsmooth( imagename='uid_A001_X15b4_X37.s38_0.Sgr_A_starsci.spw24.cube.I.iter1.image.pbcor',kernel='common',outfile='uidA001_X15b4_X37.s38_0.Sgr_A_star_sci.spw24.cube.I.iter1.image.pbcor.common') ~

@pyhsiehATalma I didn't manually image the SPW24 cube... It is from the pipeline on hipergator. Nonetheless I uploaded the common-beam cube to /upload/Sgr_A_st_b_updated_03_7M_reclean/ Let me know if you need smoothed cubes for other SBs!
