Calibration

MAJOR ISSUE: The HCO+ absorption feature in spw29 of the phase calibrator J1744-3116 is not properly flagged. As a result, the flux scaling of spw29 is probably incorrect, and the flux is likely underestimated. Noted in #178

Continuum Imaging

1. hif_findcont; continuum identification seems ok but can be improved.
Beam size of the aggregate continuum image: 2.27 x 1.42 arcsec, with a geometric mean of 1.8 arcsec.

Cubes Imaging

All SPWs binned by 2 channels.
SPW33 diverged.
Beam sizes of the cubes in the lower sideband are large: ~2.9 x 1.8 arcsec. The largest one is found in SPW31: 2.96 x 1.93 arcsec, with a geometric mean of 2.4 arcsec.
SPW29 needs a better line-free channel ID: significant emission features in the 'line-free' mom8 map.

Cube images broadly look OK. They may include edge channels and may have bad beams as a result

Cubes look ok, but there is a source with a baseline level consistently above 0 in all SPWs (except SPW29?). Could this be a result of bad uvcontsub?

Coordinate: 17:46:07.315, -28:45:32.236. This is consistent with the 'JVLA 3' radio continuum source in Rodriguez & Zapata 2013, or the 'Brickette' in Lu et al. 2019's VLA C-band continuum survey, or the HII region to the south of the Brick seen in many IR images (@keflavich the one in your Brick image).

The spw33_35 FITS images were all junk, so I removed them. I'm worried that this is a repeat of https://github.com/ACES-CMZ/reduction_ACES/issues/266#issuecomment-1474389545, though; if this shows up again, deeper manual intervention will be required - maybe the data on disk aren't calibrated somehow?

continuum of spw 33 line cube was not (fully?) subtracted in the pipeline version. For the combination of mosaic CS(2-1) I temporary fixed this issue with imcontsub. The imcontsub was applied with a sub-cube from -300 km/s to 300 km/s.

QA for latest continuum selection/imaging:

Note: new SPW 33 & 35 image missing
Difficult to tell here due to the NTFs, but qualitatively there seems to be more prominent large scale emission in SPWs 25 & 27, both in the combined and MFS images

Continuum QA:

New low frequency image looks identical to the previous version (top left, top right)
New high frequency image doesn't exist yet, so it's hard to compare. The structure looks similar overall, though some of the lower level, large scale structure is more pronounced in the lower frequency image.
Looking at the continuum selection in the spectra, it does look like there could be a small amount of line contamination creeping into SPWs 25 & 27, but nothing too substantial. I think this is probably OK?
