Trampoline Privacy Fix implemented? #622

Closed GlytchMeister closed 2 months ago

GlytchMeister commented 2 months ago

Hello,

I've noticed several releases mention connecting to trampoline nodes, but the website's FAQ and privacy pages say that this system is still in development, and that ACINQ currently knows recipient address and transaction amounts.

Has the more private system been implemented? If so, please update the website.

Better privacy has been introduced with support for Bolt 12 offers (the "reusable QR code" in your receive tab). However, there are only a handful of other wallets that support Bolt 12 offers for the moment. For backwards-compatibility, we need to keep allowing paying wallet with Bolt 11 invoices, which have this privacy issue.

Once the whole ecosystem migrates to Bolt 12, then this privacy issue will be fixed for good.

Bolt 12 offers

Is there a way for the user to voluntarily force the app to only use Bolt 12?
