Update the About page with some recent events and clean up the image handling.

Notable points that this PR has either accomplished or will accomplish.

[x] Do we have any agreements on how files should be named? I was not sure if it should be img-index.js or img_index.js or imgIndex.js or something else entirely.

Feel free to merge when ready. I left a question about file naming in the description.

So far have not used any naming conventions. We can make img-index.js the standard.
