What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use "--search" to restrict backup to specific labels.
2. Enter Japanese characters in the search terms field.
3.
It should backup as normal. Instead it fails with a "UID command error: BAD
['Could not parse command']" error.
Latest version on Windows 7.
If I write Gmail labels in English there is no problem. As soon as any part of
the label hierarchy contains a Japanese character it fails. As I only needed a
partial one time backup I just temporarily rewrote the labels in English to get
around it.
I would also like to add that Got Your Back is "the only" method that was able
to backup gmail from my workplace, an IT security company, all other methods
failed including Thunderbird, GMVault, Gmail Forwarder and other third party
software.
Not only did it succeed but it retained the label structure too.
Congratulations.
