Alarm state only changes between "Insufficient data" and "OK" #246

This is a (Bug Report)

Description

For bug reports:

What went wrong? the Alarm state never goes to "In Alarm", when an error is logged
What did you expect should have happened? Alarm state change to "In Alarm" and trigger SNS to send the notification email.

What was the config you used? using serverless.ts

alerts: {
  stages: ['dev', 'prod'],
  topics: {
    alarm: {
      topic: '${self:service}-${sls:stage}-alerts-alarm',
      notifications: [
        {
          protocol: 'email',
          endpoint: xxxxxx
        },
      ],
    },
  },
  alarms: ['functionErrors', 'functionThrottles'],
}

What stacktrace or error message from your provider did you see? I intentionally did a console.error() in my lambda to trigger the alarm.

it turns out need to set custom trigger pattern
