Has anyone got this working for Motorola Droid? #12

I have been trying to get this to work for the past three hours on my
droid. I've rooted, flash files, sbrecovery, installed bugless beast and
when i launch the wired-tether it still tells me that "the kernel I am
running doesn't have all the necessary" things to make it run.

Please help!!

When I launch the wired-tether program it says the unsupported kernel, it
doesn't
have all the necessary files to tether...

Currently the only way that I've got it to work is by patching the default
gadget
driver to include CDC ethernet support; however, it disables ADB and it will
not work
with Windows. The best option is to wait for the Linux 2.6.32 kernel to be
released
for the Droid which will include full USB tethering support. Until then,
android-wireless-tether works great over Bluetooth. All you need is a kernel
with
netfilter enabled.

There is a rom for the Droid that this works with here:
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?/forum/37-motorola-droid/
I've been using it for several days. It's fast, and the droid doesn't get hot
like
it does with WiFi Tether.

Yeah, koush has done a great work porting cyanogenmod to droid and yes
cyanogenmod
comes with an usb-tethering feature which can be enabled in wireless-settings.
This
app is doing exactly the same (including some extra-features) thing like
cyanogenmod-roms - you can even use this app on top of cyanogenmod.

Version 1.2 of this app supports the "old" 2.6.29-kernel (needs to be patched -
zinx
and ben have ported it from the htc hero-kernel-kernel) as well as the new
official
android 2.6.32 kernel - so GadgetMG is right - this app will work with the new
2.6.32-kernel for droid.

I pulled a patch out the CyanogenMod kernel that backports the new USB gadget
drivers
to the 2.6.29 kernel.

I know this thread is 6 months old but I never had a problem with wired
tethering on my Droid. I don't know why you folks are having problems. I'm
currently running LFY v1.9 with Slayher's 1100 MHz kernel, clockwork recovery,
and wired tether v1.4.
